Female calypsonian "Lady Edna" is the new Calypso King of the North. Last
year's King "De Brakes" did not defend his crowm due to the fact that he could
not find the time to have prior practice with the backup band for the
calypsonians.

The 1998 Carnival Queen is: Miss Kamalah Jno-Baptiste (First Runner-up - Miss Josian Joseph) ( Second Runner-up - Miss Laurel Anselm), and (Third place - Miss Georgette Grorge)
