Hailed where the sun rises, a beauty was born and raised in the most exotic and enchanting village of Petite Soufriere. I am 21 years old, Ravena Fontaine.
I attended the Castle Bruce Secondary School and I was one of the first students to graduate from the school. I was a member of the School Student Council, UNESCO Club and Bible Club. Being in these groups taught me to be positive and focused. I am a past student of the Dominica State College. I am an employee at the Petite Soufriere Village Council where I am a Clerk, working with persons in my community. I am an Executive Member of the Human Resource Group in my community, where I got the opportunity to learn to dance our Country's Cultural Dances. As an executive member of the Anti-Drug Group, I embrace the opportunity to work with the young persons in my community by making them understand how important their life means to them. I am also a vibrant member of the Sucroze Band originally from my community; I am a vocalist and the secretary of the group.
I participated in the first ever Teenage Pageant in my village and I captured the 2nd Runner-up position. I have also taken part in many cultural shows (dancing).
In the future, I am hoping to work with the youth of my country, Dominica. I am very proud and excited of taking part in this 2005 Queen Pageant. I am going to work my utmost best to be crowned Miss Dominica 2005. I believe this will not only be an experience for me but an opportunity to fulfil my dream.
My message to the young people out there; "now that you're young, don't waste your life away" and always think positive. |
